At Beormund Primary School in Southwark London, Linda Culverwell  took part in a series of workshops engaging the young people in a term full of creative workshops. This a A New Direction project and was in collaboration with Jonny Stockbridge and The Facility Architects.

The aim of the project was to transform a rather ‘tired’ area of the school in their library. The young people were keen to create a space that had a sense of calm and a place to escape to.
Though out the term we adopted different elements of design and art and became, for each workshop, designers, architects, sculptors, master casters, textile artists and even painters and decorators for the final installation.

The young peoples participation and artworks informed the final design resulting in a ‘sung’ to be proud with aquarium artworks, hand made and designed cushions and individually cast plaques made by each student.
